Things to discover

There are so many reasons to come and visit our beautiful region…

Vignes vélo

You like nature and wonderful landscapes?

Take a trip through the vineyards of the Côte de Beaune, Côtes Chalonnaise or Hautes Côtes de Beaune: aboard our unusual vehicles ... as well as by bike or on foot, or even by barge! By bike, discover the Bicycle Routes and Green Way of Beaune Côte & Sud. Head off on the Voie de Vignes circuit from Beaune to Santenay, the Voie de Vignes from Santenay to Nolay, or even the Voie de Tacot to Saint Loup Géanges and Maizières Abbey. On foot, from the Cliffs of Bouilland to the hillsides of the Maranges, enjoy a wonderful break on 350 km of marked, safe hiking trails. On the minor paths through the vineyards, following a cliff, crossing the valleys or the "Ends of the World", you’re in the heart of unspoilt, protected nature, classified as a Natura 2000 area. Why not go sailing on the Canal du Centre and pass through its locks? Set sail from Chagny Marina for a bucolic cruise between vineyards and green meadows!

You like music and cinema?

Detective films, Baroque, classical, jazz or Boogie-woogie music … all year round, Beaune and its region set the tone!

Are you passionate about history and fine monuments?

From Fontenay Abbey, a Unesco World Heritage site, to Clos de Vougeot, built by Cistercian monks, from Meursault’s leper house, built for the sick, to Notre Dame de Beaune Basilica, inspired by Cluny, Burgundy’s Romanesque art, with its pointed barrel vaults and sculpted capitals, produces large luminous aisles and sculpted treasures. Discover châteaux, abbeys, monuments and museums in and around Beaune. Not forgetting, of course, the Hospices de Beaune, a hospital foundation from the 15th century, with its shimmering colourful roofs, so iconic of Burgundy.

You want to take part in a truly unique weekend?

Make a date in your diary for the 3rd weekend in November each year to join in the Hospices de Beaune wine sale. Prestigious tastings and festive gatherings with winegrowers are on the programme!

Are you a wine lover?

A range of cellar tours or tastings in a wine estate are on offer. You’ll be spoiled for choice!

Are you a seasoned gourmet?

Taste local dishes (beef bourguignon, poached eggs, Burgundy snails etc) in prestigious establishments with breathtaking views or in the heart of Beaune itself ... so many different atmospheres but all with their own charm!

We’re at your disposal to advise you on places to visit, cellars to taste great wines, or even find a fine table to enjoy a real feast. Feel free to ask us!

For fans of the little white ball, Golf de Levernois is barely 5 minutes from Beaune.
